On Saturday The Herald Magazine did a feature on Estelle Maskame, who left school to become a writer. She has been writing books since she was twelve and now, at the age of seventeen, Estelle has a book deal with Black and White Publishing of Edinburgh. Did I Mention I love you is the first of three books in the DIMILY series and was released as an ebook in May and the other two, Did I Mention I Need You and Did I Mention I Miss you come out in September. Astonishing and wonderful! To think she posted a chapter at a time on a publishing website, the book went viral and reached No 1 in the IBooks Young Adult Chart.

I’ve downloaded it on to my Kindle and can’t wait to get started. This is a new genre for me but there are a lot of kids out there writing and publishing their work on such websites. Good luck to them. I am full of admiration.
