Life is very exciting at the moment. My daughter gets married on Tuesday, 18th October, and three days later – very bad planning in respect of the wedding – the fifth Eyemouth International Storytelling Festival takes place. Our line-up has been finalised with only one change in that Tim Porteus has had to drop out but we are very lucky to have Ruth Kirkpatrick in his place. She came two years ago just after her book “Stories Allways” ( a pun and not a spelling mistake) was published. Eyemouth PS has a copy of the book. So all in all, we will be welcoming Macastory, Robert Howat, Donald Nelson, Ruth Kirkpatrick, Margaret Christison and me. We are also thrilled to have Mauricio Patina from Colombia and Daniel Hernandes from Chile. So exciting!
I have discovered a new author, Oliver Jeffers. His books are lovely and beautifully illustrated. I particularly like “How to Catch a Star”, “The Way Back Home”, “Up and Down”, “Once There was a Boy” and”Stuck”. His most recent book is “A Child of Books”, published in September of this year, written and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston. The child in the title takes us on a journey through books with lines from other famous books popping up in the illustrations. I am desperate to read this and must buy a copy. Can’t wait!!
Happy Reading!!
