Here I am, back in Eyemouth, my home from home! As promised yesterday, I will be telling you about Matt from Scranton in the U.S.A who is studying to be a history teacher just like his dad, Jim. Barbara, Matt’s mum, read him all the Harry Potter books when he was young and all grown up, he now reads A Game of Thrones and he is also a Tolkien fan, having done a course on Tolkien and read and studied five books in three months which is no mean feat. But his real interest is Japanese and Chinese history and American and European history. He likes Norse mythology and one of his favourite books is Beowolf which is so impressive. But Matt is no geek as he is a died in the wool baseball fan and also a fan of pop culture.
Matt’s sister is the lovely Rachael and she is also a great reader. She remembers Goodnight Moon from when she was 5-6 years old and then The Giver by Lois Lowrey when she was about nine. Now she really challenges herself with literature which is far out there – supernatural and anything which is post-Apocalyptic. I love this as it is brave and bold and a way of finding out about yourself. Rachael does yoga and is thinking about Buddhism. She is also thinking about mindfulness which I am also interested in. I love her yoga poses on fb – so concentrated and focused.
Lastly we have Veronica from Woodlandhills in California who was travelling with her family.
