We have had such wonderful feed back about the Eyemouth Primary School Storytelling Festival with a great double page spread with photographs by Kimberley Powell in The Berwickshire News. As a result I have had conversations with the H.T’s of St. Mary’s and Holy Trinity Primary Schools in Berwick-upon-Tweed and I have been invited to Holy Trinity on 8th December to tell Christmas Tales. How exciting!! I’m looking forward to this as this is a new school for me and what a better time of the year to tell stories!!
As for my own reading, I am sorry to day it lapsed in October – understandably. However, I have just found two books in a tower of books at the foot of the stairs. I had forgotten I had bought them. They are both Wallender crime novels by Henning Mankell – Before the Frost and Sidetracked. All I need is a quiet moment and a comfy chair!
While I think about it, it’s about the time of year when I go back to Dorothy Dunnet’s The Lymond Chronicles. It takes me six weeks to read them so, do I start now or wait until after Christmas to start? Then there is David Pae’s Mary Paterson or The Fatal Error. Nothing like having two titles rather then one! It is about Mary Paterson and her fall from grace at the hands of Burke and hare. I previously read Eustace the Outcast. In fact Margaret Christison and I launched this at Gunsgreen House and it was a surprise! Lots of little stories within a big story! Long but worth it in the end! I have no reason not to get started!
